HOW TO RECEIVE FROM GOD IN A PLACE OF INTERCESSION (3)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”.- Ephesians 1:3

As believers, we must understand that our God is a generous giver. He gives abundantly and does not hold back good things from us. Christ has given, and we are on the receiving end. One may then ask: How do you approach receiving from God? Is it with a calm heart or a troubled one?

Mark 4:35-41 narrates a powerful story of Jesus calming the storm. While His disciples were paranoid and afraid, Jesus was calm. This is how Christ expects us to come before Him: with a still heart and a calm soul. In the place of prayer, we must be sensitive to the voice of God and the leadings of the Spirit.

To be sensitive, we need to be still and calm, just as Jesus was in the midst of the storm. In the place of prayer, we do away with worries and troubles. Instead, we fix our gaze on Jesus and Jesus alone, who is the author and finisher of our faith.

Jesus, speaking in John 10:14, says, “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me.” This implies that God always has something to tell us. As we speak to Him, He also speaks to us. However, are we still enough to hear His voice? Are we receiving from Him? There is so much we have yet to know and discover about God.

It is in the place of prayer, if and when we are sensitive, that we can pick up His words and instructions. In the place of prayer, we must do away with everything that could cloud our minds, fixing our gaze on Him.

Prayer Point:

Dear Jesus, thank You for the revelation that comes through Your voice and word. Help me to be ever sensitive to Your leadings and guidance. Amen.
