Proverbs 18:21, “Life and death are in the Power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Through scriptures, we see all the powerful things that happened as a result of the words that man spoke. God, in His love and Power, gave us the authority to speak things into existence, as He  did in the time of creation.

There is so much Power in the words that we speak, to ourselves and to others. Words are so powerful and we must always ensure to watch our tongue. As the bible says in the book of 1 Peter 3 vs 10; He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips speaking deceit.

Not all things are to be said, because its effects might not be as we intended for it to be. Thus, we must watch our tongues and guard our hearts jealously.

Scriptures states in Matthew 12:34b, “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” This further implies that we must be conscious as to all what we feed our minds with. We must be men and women of holy hearts and minds, which are well-pleasing to the Lord.

As Christians, we have the Power to cause good or harm; it lies in our tongue. So rather than speaking out words of Negativity, we can profess positive words and allow our lives be impacted positively.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for the Power that lies in the words that we speak. Help us Lord to utilize this Power that lies in our tongues in the manner as to which You would have us do. Amen.
