James 5:16, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great Power and produces wonderful results.”

James 5 shows us the story of Elijah and how he prayed that there would be no rainfall for three and a half years, and there wasn’t. Then, when he prayed that there would be rainfall, there was! This shows the Power that lies in the prayer of God’s children.

It is true that God knows all that we need, even before we ask of him. However, there is still a dire need for us to pray and commune with our heavenly father. Jesus speaking in Matthew 7:7 says, “Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking and the door will be opened to you.”

Thus, we must render our requests to God, trusting that he would meet each and every one of it, through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Asides our needs, prayer also helps deepens our relationship with God and teaches us more about him. When we pray, we become more like God. We are transformed in our minds and become better vessels for him to use. As Christians, prayer should not be a choice; it should be a lifestyle. We must pray; as the importance of prayer really cannot be over-emphasized. We are called to be men and women of prayer.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for the Power that lies in prayer. Help us God to pray at all times, so we may become more like You. Amen.
