HOW TO RECEIVE FROM GOD IN A PLACE OF INTERCESSION

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”- 1 John 5:14

While there are countless things we could pray about, it is crucial that we pray in a way that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father. That implies that when we intercede, we need to be sure we are praying in line with the heart of the Father.  Only then would our prayers be effective.

God honors His word more than His name (Psalm 138:2). Thus, we are to pray in alignment with what the Word of God says. The truth is that we cannot receive from God if our prayers do not match His word. The Word of God is God (John 1:1). It reveals the very nature and character of God to us. Therefore, whatever the Lord gives us will be in line with what is already written in His word, for God cannot go against what His word says.

Hebrews 4:12 teaches us that the Word of God is true and alive! It is active and ever-powerful. Thus, we are to pray by and with the Word of God. By doing so, we are agreeing with God to see His word come into fulfillment in our lives. Beloved, declare the Word of God over yourself. This is how we partner with God to see His will accomplished in our lives. There are promises in scripture that pertain to us who believe in Christ Jesus—apply them to yourself. The Word of God has been given to us for our own usage. In the place of prayer, we cannot receive what the Word of God does not promise. We only receive from God when we pray according to what His word says, for the word is complete and perfect.

 Prayer Point:

Dear Jesus, thank You for the confidence that I have in You. Help me to pray in accordance with Your word, and may my prayers always be pleasing to You. Amen.
