JOY IN UNCERTAINTIES

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” ~ Psalm 30:5

Life, by its very nature, is filled with uncertainties.
We never really know what happens next. At times, the Holy Spirit, in His mercy, opens our eyes to see ahead — to discern the plans of the enemy — but many times, life comes at us unannounced.

So, how do we handle the uncertainties of life?

By trusting in the consistent and faithful nature of God.
We draw our convictions — and our joy — from His unchanging character.

His Word says:

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)

This is one of the many assurances we have in God: that no matter the situation — no matter how uncertain it seems — we can rest in the truth that our story will not end in sorrow, but in joy.

Because God is faithful, we can hold on to His numerous promises, all of which assure us that we will never be stranded.

In our finances, we are confident that we will be provided for.
In our health, we believe that life will be restored to every part of our bodies.
In our decisions, we trust that we are led and directed by the Lord.

And the list goes on.

Though life may be inconsistent, the beautiful truth is that we serve a God who is always consistent.
We can hold on firmly to His nature — His reliability — and embrace the joy of the Lord that surely comes.

Are you in a phase of life where you don’t know what to do? Is there no clear direction for the next step?

Embrace the joy of the Lord in that very situation.
In doing so, clarity will come.

Prayer: Lord, help me to gain peace and joy in your consistent nature as my father.
