Romans 10:17 – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
As Christians, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. However, one of the most effective ways to strengthen and walk by faith is by immersing ourselves in the Word of God.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” — Hebrews 4:12
There is life in the Word of God, and His Word never returns to Him empty; it always fulfills its purpose.
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11
This truth gives us confidence in God’s Word, knowing that once He has spoken, we can trust that it will become a reality.
It is for this reason the Word of God and faith flow together. The Word of God (the written word, and the spoken word from God) strengthens and builds our faith in Him. We hold onto His promises, declaring them as though they have already come to pass.
Because in reality, when God speaks a thing, it is already established in the spiritual realm. Our role is to call it forth into the physical realm.
It may not be visible, but we walk by faith, knowing that when God says a thing, it is final. Only a matter of time before it manifests physically.
Prayer: Lord, help me to seek Your word, and to hold on to Your words concerning the matters in my life. That I may walk by faith and not by sight.
