“I have fought the fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day.” 2 Timothy 4 7-8.
A life of faithfulness, obedience, and righteousness does not go unnoticed, and Paul, speaking in our anchor scripture, confirms this. On this Christian journey, we are constantly reminded of the need to live a life of righteousness, a life of faith, and a life that pleases God, with the constant reminder that our lives do not end here.
We are continually reminded of the second coming of Christ and how we ought to live in preparation for that moment. We are also consistently reminded of the importance of obedience to God, as obedience is the proof that we truly love Him.
Unfortunately, not every “believer” aligns with what has been said above. Sadly, many “Christians” still live with no regard or awareness that there is One to whom we will give an account. Many live their lives without honoring the One they claim to serve.
However, through the lens of Paul, we see that for all who love God and remain faithful to Him, there is a crown of righteousness awaiting. As seen in verse 8: “Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
So who are those who will partake of this crown?
Those who live faithfully even in the midst of challenges, those who truly love Him, those who live for Christ, and those who eagerly await His return.

May God help us all.
Prayer: Father please help me, that I be a partaker of the crown of righteousness.
