COVENANT PROMISES OF GOD – NOAH

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” ~ Habakkuk 2 vs 3

The story of Noah and the Ark is one that we may have heard over time, as it seems very historic and mind-blowing. Genesis 6-9 records the story, where God instructs Noah to build an ark, for he was going to send a terrible flood, by which the entire world would be destroyed. Many may have perceived Noah to be crazy or in denial.

Many might have mocked him for his belief in the word of God. But, he stood strong. He built the ark and prepared for the day when the Lord would send the flood.

In Genesis 7, we see that the flood did come. It was so mighty that only Noah and his family, coupled with the other living creatures that were in the ark, did survive it. God’s words will certainly not fall to the ground; know this and know peace.

After the flood, God made a promise to Noah that we would never destroy the earth and all of its with the waters of the flood. This promise was made over a thousand years ago and yet till today there has been no re-occurrence of such an event.

Surely, there may be times where it feels as though, the promises which God has made to us may not come to pass. However, we must fix our gaze on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. We must remember how good he has been and bask in his love for us.

Luke 1:37 says, “For the word of God will never fail”. It is expedient that we approach the words and promises of God with much joy and reference. He hasn’t failed in times past, what makes you think he would fail now?

God is God, and his promises are true. Once he makes a promise to you, be rest assured it would come to pass. Though it may tarry, but it would surely come to fruition.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, we acknowledge that you are loving and ever kind. May we never take your words and promises for granted. Amen.
