“And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of righteousness, and of living judgement.” ~ John 16 vs 8.

In the book of John, chapter 16, we see Jesus talking to his disciples about sending a helper after his departure. The helper is the Spirit of God, also known as the Holy Spirit. In the rest of the chapter, we also see some of the duties of the Holy Spirit, one of which is to convict the world of sin and lead to righteousness.

This simply implies that we cannot come into a place of righteousness unless we are helped by the Spirit of God. For we are flesh, and flesh  by nature is sinful.

Jesus Christ understood this, that is why he thought it best to send us a helper in the person of the Holy Spirit, who will help us live a life that pleases God.

His nature is Holiness and Righteousness, hence he has the power to judge that which is unholy and sinful. With the Holy Spirit living within each and every one of us (believers), we now have the power to live above sin, to be righteous, and to live lives that are holy and consecrated to God alone.

PRAYER: Father, help me be consecrated to you, help me live a life that is holy and pleasing to you.
