“So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God”- Hebrews 6:1

As believers, it is pertinent to note that Christ calls us into a deeper walk with Him. There is so much to know and understand about God, much more than that which is even known by mere men. Spiritual maturity is a journey expected of us as children of the Most High God. It is a process to which we devote our time, energy, and even resources to engage in activities that would bring us closer to God. It is an ongoing process until the day we go to be with Christ.

As spiritually mature Christians, we begin to look more like Christ. As our actions align more with the Nature of God, the desires for fellowship and intimacy with God slowly becomes our top priority.

The impact of spiritual maturity in a believer’s life really cannot be overemphasized.

We can’t afford to settle for less. We can’t afford to not know God more. Instead, we must make the decision to press in and discover more truth about Him. We should be willing to develop a deeper relationship with our heavenly Father, so that we begin to know Him as He knows us.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, give us the strength and grace needed to continually grow in our walk with You, that we may abound in Your love and become mature in wisdom. Amen.
