“Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen”- 2 Peter 3:18

As believers, studying the Word of God is an essential part of our walk with God. It is an activity in which we must engage and never depart from. The Word of God is an active and sharp tool that contains life-giving power.

In order to become Spiritually mature, we must dedicate ourselves to the study of God’s Word. In the Word, we gain Wisdom and Knowledge. The Word of God guides our actions, teaching us the path we are to follow and helps us differentiate between what is right and what isn’t.

The Word of God makes us Wise through and through. Thus, we must cling to it, so that we may grow in our walk with God.

James, speaking in James 1:23, said, “For if you listen to the Word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.”

Thus, it is not sufficient to just study the Word. We must apply the doctrines, concepts, and truths that lie in the Word of God. The proof that we study the Word of God is in our obedience to the Word. Studying the Word without active application and obedience to it is vain.

The Word of God has been given to us by God for us to live by. Thus, study and obey the Word, beloved.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help us to continually feed on Your word, whilst putting into active practice all that we learn from it. Amen.
