HEALING: THE GIFT OF HEALING EMBEDDED IN US

“And as you go, preach, saying ‘the kingdom of heaven is at hand’. Heal the Sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received and freely give.”~ Mathew 10 vs 7-8.

We see from the verse above that, alongside the mandate given to us Christians to go forth and spread the good news, we have also been given the mandate to go out there, heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse the lepers. Jesus, in His infinite mercy, decided to leave with us the gift of healing so that we may heal the sick and bring them to Christ.

Jesus had so much compassion for the people that He could not turn a blind eye to their suffering in sickness. Hence, the gift of healing He made available for all who can follow Him and walk in His path. Why then do Christians not function or operate in this gift? It is important to understand that pastors are not the only ones entitled to this power; you and I are.

For those who have compassion and are in a sincere relationship with God, the power to heal is already within us. It just takes us to act in faith and to use that which we already have. Similar to the disciples who, after being sent out in twos to different cities, came back with testimonies of how they healed the sick and cast out demons. The same power from that time is available for us to walk in today.

If you have someone sick around you, why not pray for them, asking that the healing Power of God rests upon them?

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of healing. Please help me to operate in that gift, that I may fulfill Your mandate.
