“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Saviour and my God.”– Psalms 42:5

Life can be challenging sometimes as we all know. Though we make plans and set actions in place to serve as a guide for the outcomes in our lives, we still cannot control everything. There are situations, occurrences, and circumstances that are certainly beyond our control. Some of these events could appear as minor, while others may have a significant impact.

Thus, when we are not in full control of the events around us, the typical human response is to worry. Often, we find ourselves worrying about things we can and cannot control. While the reasons for our worries may be understandable, there is great news for us: we have no reason to worry! Our heavenly Father is in control of all that occurs.

Beloved, you are God’s precious child—His most prized jewel. While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Now that we are in Him, what more would He not do for us? God gave Himself on the cross so that we may live abundantly; His love for us knows no bounds. Therefore, we can trust Him with our lives completely. We can place our hope in Him entirely.

We are encouraged to be hopeful and joyful. Though we may not understand or be aware of many things, we serve a God who knows all. Therefore, let go of worry or fear regarding things beyond your control. Christ is and will always be with you—He will never forsake you. He remains the same, yesterday, today, and forever.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help us to surrender all to You. Let our hearts always be at rest with the assurance that You are in total control of all that happens. Amen.
