“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
In this evolving world of ours, one needs wisdom to navigate and make the right decisions. Wisdom is a great virtue that many, if not all, should strive to attain. But first, what is wisdom? We need to understand that wisdom, in itself, is a gift (1 Corinthians 12:8), for every believer has access to the gift of Wisdom. But we also need to understand that this wisdom is not that of men but of God, as seen in the book of 1 Corinthians 3 vs 19- “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.”
So what then is Wisdom? This is a fragment of God deposited in the life of a believer that helps provide direction and solutions to life’s challenges. Wisdom is from one source- God. The wisdom of God makes a man grow and reveals things yet to be known to others. Earthly wisdom has its role to play in our dealings and activities, but certainly cannot out-beat the wisdom that is of God. Thus, we are encouraged to apply the wisdom of God in our daily lives and activities, as it would guide our actions and help us stay on God’s orchestrated path for our lives. James 1:5 is a kindly reminder that God will never judge us for asking for wisdom. He is aware that we require His wisdom to soar and thrive, hence why He has given it to us as a gift for all who are in need.
The word of God outlines various persons who operated by the wisdom of God, some of which we would discuss in the weeks to come! Oh, the wisdom of God!
Prayer: Dear Jesus, we thank You for being the wisest that there is. We ask for the help to apply Your wisdom in all that we do. Amen.
