“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”- Jeremiah 17:7-8.
In Genesis 17, God promises Abraham that he would become the father of nations at a very old age. One may wonder, how could that possibly happen when he didn’t have a child yet? But Abraham was counted as righteous because of his faith. He held onto the word of God, even when it didn’t seem practically possible. On the other hand, the children of Israel could not enter into the rest that God had intended for them because of their unbelief (Hebrews 4:1-6). This shows how important it is to believe! We should not approach God in prayer with a doubting heart.
Moreover, God is aware of our every thought and action. To receive from God, one has to believe and trust totally in His power and might. We pray with the understanding that our prayers are heard by God and will be answered. Beloved, you have every reason to trust God. Christ has been too good for us to doubt Him. He hasn’t failed in times past, and He certainly won’t do so now. God has proven Himself faithful, over and over. Thus, why worry? Why doubt? Why fret?
When we doubt God, it prevents us from receiving all that He has freely given to us. Therefore, pray with a large and believing heart. Be confident in God’s power and goodness. Beloved, you do not have a faith problem. Blessed are we who believe in Jesus Christ, even though we have not seen Him (John 20:28-29). Therefore, don’t doubt. There is absolutely no reason to. If we can believe in Jesus Christ, we certainly can trust Him with our prayer requests and our very lives.
Prayer Point:
Dear Jesus, thank You for who You are. Amidst all that may occur, may I stand firm, trusting wholly in Your name. Amen.
