“For as he think eth in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.” ~ Proverbs 23:7

Many of us are familiar with the first part of our Bible verse: “As a man thinketh, so is he.” But have we ever taken the time to study or dig deep into that verse?

How is it that the thoughts of a man determine the life of a man?

This verse shows us just how powerful and important the mind and thoughts of a man are.

The mind is where the battle takes place! A man who wins in his mind can win in reality.

For whoever is able to control their mind can control every other aspect of their life.

It is for this reason that the enemy is constantly striving to attack the minds of the people, filling the mind with negative thoughts on a constant basis. These thoughts come with different feelings and emotions. Sometimes, they appear as fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, and the list goes on and on.

Remember that the spirit God blessed us with is one of power, love, and a sound mind. This means that every feeling and emotion that is not in line with what God has blessed us with is definitely not from Him.

What does that tell us?

It confirms once again that the enemy is relentlessly after our minds and the status of our minds.

This explains why many with potential are still in the same spot after years. It is because they have lost the battle of the mind—especially for those who have no idea that they are in a battle.

Remember, ignorance is not an excuse, and whether we like it or not, we are constantly in warfare. The question now is: who is winning?

Prayer: Lord, please help me be more conscious of the battle ongoing in my mind, help me that I be on the winning side.
