“He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.'” ~ Luke 11:28
Have you ever asked the question, ‘What if Jesus chose not to die?’ What then would have happened?
Or have you ever wondered what would have happened if He had decided to only do the good works of healing and miracles but not to be crucified for our sake? What then would have been our faith?
The truth of the matter is, if Jesus had decided to cower and flee rather than being arrested and crucified, then His obedience would not have been complete.
Even though He was performing miracles, healing the sick and raising the dead. Though He was teaching His disciples about God the Father and His Kingdom. But if He did not complete the will of the Father by giving His life for us, then even if He did good works, it will still be counted as disobedience.
This is because partial obedience is not obedience.
That is how it is with us too, many times God gives us instructions and we stick with doing the parts that are suitable with our flesh and convenience, leaving the other half undone.
We need to understand that partial obedience is still counted as disobedience.
“And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.”
Until your obedience is complete, can you see the results of that which you have been seeking the face of God for.
Until your obedience is complete, would you gain that which the Lord is ready to give you.
Prayer: Father, help my obedience be complete.
