THE LIFE OF OBEDIENCE- HIS LIFE NOT YOURS

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” ~ Galathians 2: 20

Obedience stems from the understanding that the life we live is no longer ours, but Christ’s.

It is just like a manufacturer who determines how his products will be used. The products themselves cannot decide their purpose; only the owner has the authority to direct their use.

In the same way, the moment you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you surrendered ownership of your life. No wonder Scripture says in Matthew 16:25: “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

In other words, we are called to live with a mindset of “losing” our lives for Christ’s sake. This means that the life we now live on earth is no longer to be steered by our own ways and thoughts, but aligned with God’s will and plan.

Once you embrace this understanding, it becomes clearer why obedience is expected of us as believers.

We are here on earth for the sole purpose of doing the Father’s will. The very life Christ lived serves as our template, a life fully yielded to the Holy Spirit and His instructions.

Rejoice in the knowledge that your life is no longer yours! For as Scripture declares, those who lose their lives for the sake of the gospel will find true life.

Yes, we may face challenges but He is a rewarder of those that seek Him. He rewards and restores!

We do not fear; instead, we rejoice, because we are assured that in losing our earthly life, we gain eternal life in Christ, with everlasting treasures awaiting us at the feet of the Father.

Prayer: Father, help me come into terms with my new reality in you. That my life is no longer mine, but is now yours. Help me be willing to loose my life for the purpose of your Kingdom.
