THE HOLY SPIRIT; THE CONVICTOR OF SIN

“And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of righteousness, and of living judgement; of sin because they do not believe in me” ~ John 16 vs 8&9.

Many times, when we, as believers, go out to preach the gospel as instructed by our Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15), we are eager to ensure that the unbelievers we minister to are willing to give their lives to Christ right in that moment and give up all of their sinful acts.

In other cases, we might have friends and relatives whom we are trying to bring to Christ, but it just doesn’t seem like our witnessing to them has any effect or changes their hearts.

The truth of the matter is that we, as Christians, are to share the gospel, which is a heavenly mandate and the right thing to do. However, it is important to understand that the Holy Spirit is the only one with the ability to convict us of our sin.

He is the one who has the ability to arrest the soul of a person and bring them to a state of righteousness by believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

So if there are individuals you have been witnessing to, but nothing seems to change in their lives, you can now hand over such a person to the Holy Spirit to convict them.

PRAYER: Father, I hand over those unbelievers to you. Please convict them of sin and bring them into a place of righteousness.
