“Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve’. Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.” ~ Matthew 4:10-1.

In Matthew 4, We see clearly how Jesus was tempted of the devil. Jesus came in the flesh and he is our example. The devil had asked Jesus to worship him and Jesus, having the understanding of the only One who is deserving of our worship, responded and made the devil leave. Worship is a weapon that helps us overcome the fiery darts of the enemy. God responds to worship and in His presence, worshippers are rewarded.

It reveals God’s glory to us and helps us to grow closer to God. It is a powerful weapon that is capable of changing our lives. Jesus understood the power of worship and he could confront the devil with that.

Worship begins in our hearts. It is not about the rhythm of the song, it is about the reference of God and the thirst for His presence. Worship requires the truthful state of our hearts because we must worship God in Spirit and in Truth as Jesus had told us in John 4:23-24.

Worship is a life-altering weapon. When your focus is on God and the revelation of His word and His deed, we become equipped for living a life of faith and that of an over-comer. God is with anyone who worships him in Spirit and in Truth and He fights for you. Just like Jesus, His angels would minister to you.

PRAYER: Father, help me to worship you in Spirit and in Truth. Help me to live a life that glorifies You.
