SPIRITUAL MATURITY II- Prayer and Fasting

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results”-James 5:16b

Prayer is a channel by which we communicate with God, and partner with him to bring about the fulfillment of his will, here one earth. For one to be spiritually mature, it would require one spending ample time in prayer.

Jesus speaking in Matthew 7:7 said, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you”.

This verse shows how God is very much interested in us reaching out to Him.,

Thus, pray beloved. Build yourself up, continually. Set out time to speak with God. Beloved, never lose sight of the fact that prayer is a two-way process. As you speak, open your heart to hear from Him as well. Let your thoughts be known to Him, even as He makes His known to you.

Whilst we pray, we receive directions and instructions. We receive clarity and wisdom, as to what to do and what not to do. Whilst we pray, we discover more about God and even ourselves. It is a means through which we purge and consecrate ourselves to God.

Prayer and Fasting is an essential part of every believer’s life.

To grow, one must pray, and from time to time, set aside food(s) and every other form of distraction, and give yourself wholly to prayer, as it would do you you lot of good.

As it is popularly said- Prayer is key. We must pray as there is so much power that lies in it.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help us to pray without ceasing, trusting wholly in You to answer our prayer requests in due time. Amen.
