Romans 10:17, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
As Christians, we have been saved and redeemed by grace through our faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). The decision we made to believe in Jesus has given us a right standing with Him. However, it is pertinent to note that the word “Faith,” as we commonly describe it today, is not something we casually derive.
Faith is a product of the Spirit of God that dwells in us. The Holy Spirit renews our minds on the finished works of Christ. He strengthens and empowers us so that our faith in Christ Jesus may grow. 1 Corinthians 7:9 states that Faith is a gift of the Spirit, which further implies that it is not something we can work for or attain through certain works. God, being very loving and merciful, decided to graciously bless His own children with such a beautiful gift. Faith comes from the Spirit of God. Thus, one must be conscious to ensure that we utilize this gift of faith as we ought to.
The gift of faith in Christ Jesus is received when one becomes saved. This gift helps us trust in God amidst the diverse circumstances that we may face. It fills us with so much confidence in the power of God that we become unstoppable and unshakable.
Prayer Point: Dear Jesus, thank You for the gift of faith that You have blessed us with. Help us Lord Jesus that our faith in You will never waver. Amen.
