“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” ~ 1 Corinthians 1:20
The promises of God remain yes and amen—a sealed and concluded deal. To encourage us, let’s take a moment to reflect on a few of God’s promises to us.
For those who feel weak and in need of strength, God has assured us in His Word: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
When we find ourselves in need of provision and finances, we can hold on to the promise: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
On days when we look to Him for help, His Word reassures us: “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:13).
In times when we seek good health, we can cling to His promise: “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you” (Deuteronomy 7:15).
Whenever you feel afraid, remember His promise to give you courage: “Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
When you need direction in life, hold on to His assurance: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
The list of promises goes on and on. I encourage you to search the scriptures and compile a list of promises that the Lord has provided for us. Let these words remind us that God is present and faithful in all that He does. If He says it, He will do it.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your promises. Thank You for the provisions You have made for us in the scriptures.
