CHRIST IN ME: THE HOPE OF GLORY

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” ~ Colossians 1:27

Now that we’ve established what it means to have an identity in Christ, what better way to crown this truth than by reflecting on the hope we now have in Him?

When we accepted Christ and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, a supernatural upgrade took place in our lives. This is one that goes beyond this earthly realm and stretches into eternity. This is not just a temporary change, but an eternal transformation that continues even after we leave this world.

Our anchor scripture boldly declares: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27. This means that because Christ now dwells in us, we carry a living hope, the assurance that there is glory ahead. Not just any glory, but His glory. We are now partakers of His eternal inheritance: “He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  2 Thessalonians 2:14

This hope is not passive, it is active. Here on earth, we are empowered to walk in His nature, His presence, and His kingdom authority. For if we have shared in His death and resurrection at the point of salvation, then we also share in His eternal glory and kingdom power. And now that you are aware of your identity and your shared glory in Christ, let a new confidence arise in you. You have been commissioned and empowered: To heal the sick and raise the dead, just as Jesus did in Matthew 10:1

To trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy as seen in Luke 10:19, To cast out demons and set the captives free as seen in Mark 16:17

This is the hope of glory: Christ living in you, working through you, and preparing you for eternal reign with Him. Let this hope transform the way you live, speak, and serve. You are not ordinary, you are Christ’s representative, carrying His glory into a broken world.

All of this is made available in Christ Jesus, for He resides in You, it is no longer you who lives, but Christ who lives through you; “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” ~ Galathians 2: 20.

Prayer: Lord, help me to begin functioning in the reality of who I am in You.
