“Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’” ~ John 14:23

To start with, there are a few questions that would be great for us to ponder on.

Why do you do the things you do for the Kingdom? Why do you serve Jesus? Why do you give to His house? What is the true driving force behind your dedication to the things of God?

Many have their various reasons for doing what they do, but when we trace it back, it is expected that we find love at the very centre of it all.
The real reason we do what we do for the Kingdom of God is simply because we love Him. Without love, serving Christ quickly becomes a burden.

Love is the motivation, the driving force, and the oil that keeps us going. Without love, obedience becomes difficult.

The proof of our love for Christ is revealed in our level of obedience to God and His commands. As our anchor scripture says: He who loves Jesus will obey His teachings and His commands.

But it doesn’t stop there. The Father, seeing such obedience, will also love them and make His home with them.

Do you want God in that matter? Do you want Him in your home, in your life? The secret is simple: prove your love through obedience.

Start with the Ten Commandments given in the book of Exodus. Take that first step, and watch God make His home with you.

As you continue in your journey as a believer, God Himself will begin to make personal demands of you. Sometimes those demands will cost you, for obedience is costly.

Yet, when love is your driving force, the joy and peace that follow obedience are beyond words.

Be assured: the Lord who sees will surely reward every act of obedience.
