Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]- 3 John 1:2.
In Luke 8, the Scriptures narrate a powerful scenario where the healing power of God was dispensed. From that short story, we witness the Power of God on full display. The woman with the issue of blood demonstrated great virtues, which are worth learning from, as outlined below:
1. Faith: The woman with the issue of blood exhibited great faith. She was certain that she would receive her healing once she touched the fringes of Christ’s robe. How profound is that! Regardless of the circumstances we face, we must have great faith in Christ, resting assured that He will come through for us. Trust in the power of His stripes, for by His stripes, we are healed.
2. Perseverance: Truthfully, not everyone has the strength required to endure 12 years of continuous bleeding. However, this woman kept pushing through. Fully aware of her condition, she kept trusting and believing. She persevered. At the appointed time, she was healed, bringing glory to the name of God. Though our healing may tarry, it will surely come.
3. Determination: The occurrence in Luke 8 shows that the woman is a go-getter. Knowing that the Savior was around, she joined the crowd, followed him, and made her way to the very front. She was determined to get her healing and put in the effort needed. We will only receive our healing when we are determined to pursue it. Although it is a reality in the Spirit that we are healed, we still need to physically seek it.
The Blood of Jesus, being a currency in the realm of the Spirit, has made the gift of healing available for those who know how to use this currency.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me understand the potency of Your blood, that I may gain my healing.
